I read it On the Internet it Must be True

Just because you read it on a website doesn’t mean it TRUE – honestly!

So many people read a website and take everything about what they have read as fact! Are you serious.

People are trusting and people want to make money and the 2 don’t always go hand in hand.

Recently it was identified that thousand’s of peoples Facebook accounts had been hacked.  For the simple purpose of Liking products and services. Yes that is all.

But the power is in these Facebook likes. As the more influential you are on Facebook or any other social media the more people follow you and the more they get content from your social stream.

So companies were purchasing Facebook likes from real people. Now most of these likes are not really people. However if you have hacked a person’s Facebook account and you do a couple of thousand Likes on products or services then other real people will start to be influenced by your social currency – yes a simple Facebook Like!

Can you really ever trust what is online? If you ask Google they will say they are making every effort to show the most relevant search information and doing what every they can to combat webspam (or sell Google Ads). Not sure if this even answers the question but considering who the top 10 websites for traffic are:

  1. Google
  2. Facebook
  3. YouTube
  4. Yahoo!
  5. Baidu.com
  6. Wikipedia
  7. Amazon.com
  8. QQ.com
  9. Windows Live
  10. LinkedIn

The long and the short of it is when you are buying something you need to undertake some due diligence as AstoTuring is a live and well.
